The real contrast between Oman dry desert and watery oasis are just few miles apart. Wadi Bani Khalid and Sharqiya Sands (AKA Wahiba Sands) are two of Oman very famous natural attractions which can be visited on a full day tour.
From Muscat and through a highway that go through Oman’s beautiful mountains we will take our guests on a two hours and half ride to Wadi Bani Khalid which is a palm tree oasis in the middle of curvy dry mountain that consist of many tiny water pools with streaming water and even some waterfalls. Also, there are caves under some of the pools that are awaiting to be discovered. So with our guests we will be on a discovery mission at this natural water park and of course the Wadi visit is not complete without taking a refreshing dip in the clear spring water.
After that we will be heading to Wahiba Sands Desert on a small ride but a complete contrast between endless water pools at Wadi Bani Khalid to endless sands dunes at Asharqia Desert. Seeing and experiencing an isolated desert cannot be skipped and is a must do at least once alive. Asharqiya Sands is the Arabian desert as you’ve always imagined it: a huge, virtually uninhabited swathe of sand, with towering dunes, sculpted by the wind into delicately molded crests and hollows. It appears like an ‘ocean of waves’, which is why it is best described as a perfect specimen of sand sea. At Sharqiya Sands our guests can experience the feeling of being isolated from the world at this very quiet and harsh environment and if we are lucky we might come across some camels and get to pose for picture with those charming animals.
